In 2003 a consulting company came to Sabre Holdings and began a pilot program mentoring teams in Agile. The pilot teams were able to show value to the organization, and the decision was made to continue mentoring teams in the agile approach. Internal Travelocity mentors subsequently reviewed the original framework and how it had naturally evolved within the different business units and teams. Using the principle of inspect and adapt, the mentors created Agile Version 2.0. This session provides an introduction to Agile and explains the changes from Agile V1.0 to V2.0 at our company. This presentation is used during all of our project kick-off sessions at Travelocity.
Lisa Shoop is a Director of Software Development at Sabre-Holdings. She has 20 years of experience in the IT industry spanning many aspects of software development. She has worked as an Agile Coach at Travelocity leading teams in the transition to Agile. This includes mentoring executives, project and marketing teams. Additionally, she has held a variety of other leadership roles as it relates to software development in testing, business analysis, code development and project management.
